Danny Holguin is an award-winning filmmaker and visual artist from Cartagena, Colombia, recognized for impactful storytelling with a focus on positive social messages. He graduated with a Media Arts degree from the The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in 2005 and has since worked across the media industry in the United States and internationally.
Throughout his career, Danny has collaborated with major media organizations including CNN, Caracol Televisión, Univision, NBCUniversal, Telemundo, Channel 4, Ogilvy & Mather, and Quicksilver Media, among others.
In 2013 he founded DHO Studios LLC, focusing on meaningful independent productions. His documentary Interrupted Destinies earned the Victor Nieto Award at the Cartagena, Colombia Film Festival – FICCI and Best Foreign Documentary at the Atlanta DocuFest. His film La Boquilla, My Paradise received eight awards, and other projects have reached final stages at the NATPE market. Projects such as Mani Cura have also been selected at the Cannes Film Festival.
In advertising, Danny produced the viral Aeroméxico “DNA Discounts” campaign, which received a Bronze Lion at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, an Effie Awards honor, and recognition at The One Show. In 2020 he served as a key producer for Trump’s Coronavirus Catastrophe, produced by Quicksilver Media for UK’s Channel 4’s long-running investigative series Dispatches.
Danny frequently speaks to film students at universities in South Florida and has been featured in press, radio, and television. His work in film and advertising has been showcased at international festivals, secured distribution, and earned multiple accolades.
