“Ana The Witch” documentary teaser / “Ana la Bruja”, teaser del documental

A Gift or a curse?
This is the story of Ana:
Ana was born in the fascinating island of Cuba with an extraordinary power that she didn’t ask for. She is forced to learn to control it before it controls her.
She was raised in the very small village of Arroyo Blanco that is located in front of a cemetery.
At a very young age, Ana realized that she was not like the other little girls; there was something different about her. Even though she looked normal, healthy, pretty, she had a gift. Ana could see and talk to the dead, not only the dead but, demons, saints and according to her the devil himself. As a child everywhere she went; she was easily possessed by any fleeting spirit. Crossing a hospital or cemetery became unbearable. When a spirit possessed her body, she had attacks that no one could explain. By the time she was in her early 20’s she was admitted into a mental institution for treatment. They thought she might be epileptic or suffer from serious mental problems.
Finally, her uncle who also practices Santeria comes to visit her from Miami after 16 years and witnesses what has happened; he explains to her that the only way she will be able to control these attacks is to control the spirits by helping them. This turn of events saves her life. Now all she has to do is find out what the spirits need from the living, what unfinished business they might have so that they can leave her alone. Ana then submerges herself in the practice of Santeria, by doing séance, animal sacrifices, and practicing white magic. She becomes well known in her village and everyone lovingly calls her “Ana the Witch”. Ana has three brothers that also practice Santeria and help her with her work, but she is the only one that has the gift to see the future and heal the sick.
The film will portray Ana’s four spirits that posses her, some in a negative way and some positive. She relies on these spirits for answers of the unknown and to help the clients in her village that are affected by the fleeting spirits of the cemetery that surrounds the small village. Some spirits are very evil, as dark as the devil himself. As Ana explains; she has seen the devil in many shapes and forms, in the shape of a bird and embodied in a human being amongst other creatures. Ana constantly battles these evil spirits with her healing white magic practices. Aside from this, she has the power to heal the sick and to predict the future; many of her clients have been successful in various areas thanks to Ana’s predictions. Her fellow villagers love and respect Ana.
The fact that Ana and the villagers reside next to a cemetery gives the story line a “Poltergeist” appeal to it. Characters throughout the film talk about the dead being buried under their homes and when it rains heavily some have witnessed human bones coming out from the wet ground.
The initial footage of Ana the witch was captured in 2002; as the teaser portrays.
The footage is REAL, no special effects. As the teaser shows; there is a scene that Ana is doing a cleansing ritual and in the 1:25 minute mark, there is a dark shadow captured that no one can explain. Various occurrences like that one are captured in this film.
Towards the middle of the film; we see is an older wiser Ana, thirteen years later who has now come to terms with her spirits and her life. Ana’s up bringing in the island of Cuba was very challenging. The struggles due to the country’s political regime have always been a great challenge. Part of this political regimen is that the government was against all types of religion specially the infamous voodoo who seems to fascinate non practitioners because of the obscure mysticism.
Ana is considered to be a good witch; she does not dwell in black magic. She practices white magic and takes advantage of her gift in order to help her people from their torments.
The documentary will incorporate the original footage shot in 2002 in standard definition. The old footage combined with modern day technology will come together in a great cinematic fusion of two eras; enhancing the story line.
