A Coffee for Gabo, tells the story of young Gabriel Garcia Marquez, also known as Gabo. A determined news paper reporter, who forms an unlikely friendship with Mingo, an illiterate orphan boy who delivers coffee for him everyday. Through their bond, both characters grow and confront life's hardships together. Their shared love for storytelling and words becomes the key that helps them rise above their struggles, paving the way for Gabo's journey to becoming one the world's most celebrated novelists.
Hernando Olivares is an experienced film promoter, writer, college professor, and film critic based in the US. He was raised in Barranquilla, Colombia. During the 1990s, he served as a film/video producer for Intercor, an Exxon subsidiary that operated Cerrejon, the largest coal mine in Latin America and the tenth largest in the world. During this period, he directed over 15 documentaries, encompassing both direct narratives and institutional pieces. He also produced films made for Television. A Coffee for Gabo is his first feature film.
Ernesto Reyes is a talented young Colombian actor who has made a name for himself in the U.S. entertainment industry. He starred in the drama Luz and the horror-comedy Summoning the Spirits. Reyes also appeared in the TV series American Gods, portraying a Mexican Jesus. Soon, he will bring to life the legendary writer Gabriel García Márquez in the upcoming feature film A Coffee for Gabo.

He continued to become internationally recognized as a rising star working on The king of Havana. Since moving to Miami, he has had a successful career both in theater and on screen. Next up for Hector is the much anticipated film ``Los Frikis``, in which he stars and co-produces, as well as the feature film ``Killing Castro.``
